Race to Youth Olympic Games takes next step in Bolivia

 
La Paz, Bolivia, July 6, 2017 – The Olympic Club in Cochabamba will be a fitting venue when eight teams per gender compete in the second leg of South American Qualifying for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games from July 7-9.

Female and male teams from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela will compete in the second of five qualifying rounds.  The top teams will qualify for Buenos Aires 2018, which runs from October 6-18 next year. 


At Nanjing 2014 Brazil beat Venezuela in the women’s gold medal match, while Argentina won men’s bronze. 

The home side will be represented by Maria Canedo and Nicole Nogales in the women’s competition, and Carlos Chacon and Hasan Tawafsha in the men’s. 

The first Youth Olympic Games qualifying tournament took place in Asuncion, Paraguay.
