The third edition of the Youth Olympic Games are set to take place from October 6 to 18, 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and it will be the second time beach volleyball will be included in the sporting line-up.
The event will be held in Green Park, located in the northern area of the city, this park stands in one of the greenest area in Buenos Aires.
This year Youth Olympic Games will include 30 Olympic sports. To be eligible for the Youth Olympic Games, athletes must be born between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2003.
Volleyball was part of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010, when Cuba won the boys’ volleyball gold medal over Argentina, and Belgium defeated the United States to clinch the gold medal in the girls’ competition.
The FIVB hopes that this event can create a strong platform to develop youth beach volleyball all over the world.
